Matchbox Candy Wrapper

Matchbox Candy Wrapper - by April Dawn Creations

1.  Measure the width of the miniature candy pack you are wrapping.

2.  Cut a strip of scrap paper the width you just measured.

3.  Fold up the bottom by about 1 inch.  Less is fine with candies that are not too bulky.

4.  Use that fold to “pinch” in your candy…make sure the manufacturers wrapper of the candy is caught in the bottom of the “pinch”. Then fold the paper strip at the length of your candy.

5.  Fold your paper strip again using the width of your candy as a guide…so it looks like this:

6.  Fold back the paper strip, so it only overlaps half of your first fold. When you are done with that step your paper strip should look something like this:

7.  Cut the excess off your paper strip, and measure the width and height for your template.

8.  Take those two measurements, (the first for the width and the second for the height) and open a new file in your digi-scrapping software with those dimensions. making sure you keep track of where your fold lines will come.

9.  Embellish your template. (The top and bottom segments will be facing the right direction…but the middle two segments will need the elements to be upside down in order for them to face right-side up later after folding.)

10.  Print your matchbox wrappers…I would first save your completed wrapper as a jpg file and then create an 8.5×11 file. Move the wrapper over to the larger file and copy it as many times as you can fit. Then save this as your final jpg and print. (This saves you on paper and time.) *I recommend printing your wrapper on a lightweight cardstock or plain paper to make it easier to wrap around your miniature candy pack.*

11.  Fold your paper along the “fold lines” you kept track of in Step 8.

12.  Insert your candy into the “pinch” area again…and Staple about through the middle of the flap.

13.  Fold the top portion inside the bottom flap…like this:

14.  Repeat the folding-stapling-folding steps as many times as you need. Then sit back and ENJOY the “fruits of your labors”!! You made it!!
